Our History

Juan I. Hernández founded the Salón "Tenampa" in the year 1925, the same year in which the mariachi arrives at the square that we know today as Garibaldi. With the "Mariachi Cocula" of Concepción "Concho" Andrade, and the "Mariachi Reyes" of José Reyes, the Musical Tradition of Plaza Garibaldi in Mexico City starts this year, and the legend of Tenampa is born.

Tenampa mixes al kind of traditional Mexican music (the son, the ranchera song, the wild song and the bolero ranchero), here they live with the tequila and the pomegranate or myrtle liqueur.
